Maria Montes Garcia

Maria Montes Garcia was the daughter of Carlos Garcia and Marina Montes. She was the granddaughter of Telesforo Montes and Quirina Alderete. She was also the granddaughter of Gregorio Nacianceno Garcia I and Maria De Los Santos Alvillar. Maria was the first young lady to graduate from the Academy in San Elizario run by the Sisters of Loretto, the first school for girls West of San Antonio, Texas. She was the second wife of Octaviano Larrazolo. Maria and Octaviano moved from San Elizario, Texas to New Mexico where he was elected Governor and later a United States Senator.
